Brief introduction
The Huajian technology of multilingual embedded machine translation has undergone more than 20 years of research and development and has international leading translation quality. It adopts code compression technology and optimized algorithm, as well as the open developing platform with multi-platform portability, and is applied in real-time translation on many e-end products such as PC, mobile phone and PDA.
Technological characteristics
Embedded machine translation technology of Huajian dominates the domestic market. The machine translation system has high requirements for the computing capability and memory capacity of the running environment, and the multi-functional information processing, especially the man-machine interface of natural language depends more on resources of the system.Therefore, in order to realize the embedded multilingual information translation processing, the embedded system of Huajian adopts a variety of technologies to enhance the processing speed and reduce the space occupied by software and data:
(1) Cross-platform virtual machine technology which lets the machine translation system to be used in different hardware platforms and operating systems
(2) Effective knowledge compression algorithm to reduce more space occupied by software and data, so that the knowledge of translation system can be put into the limited memory of the embedded system.
(3) High-performance machine translation algorithm in order to adapt to CPU of lower frequency in the embedded system.
Huajian has developed the embedded English-Chinese, Chinese-English and Japanese-Chinese, Chinese-Japanese machine translation systems. The one-way and two-way translation systems occupy the space of 3-5 M and 8-10M respectively, the program code occupies the space of nearly 200K, and the operating space is 200K. Under CPU with the frequency of 33M and 206M, the speed of English-Chinese translation can be 4 seconds per sentence and 1 second per sentence respectively. The rate of translation readability can reach 90%.
